Frequently-Asked Questions What is the difference between a personal chef and a
private chef? A private chef in generally employed by an individual
or family, and oftentimes lives in the client's home. A personal chef on the
other hand serves several different clients, usually one per day, and prepares
multiple meals during each visit. What kinds of meals do you prepare? We will only prepare the foods that you have chosen
from our custom menu, or from favourite recipes that you have provided to us. We
will submit all meal plans for your approval prior to our scheduled cooking
date. What kinds of side dishes do you prepare? We prepare side dishes chosen to complement the dishes
you have selected. For example, if you ordered a savoury stew, we might
recommend a rice or polenta side dish to be enjoyed with it. Upon request, we
can prepare sauces to be served with your favourite vegetables, and can prepare
fresh vegetables for cooking. However, we do not recommend that we cook the
vegetables for you, as they may lose flavour if heated again. Where do you prepare my meals? On the agreed cooking date, your personal chef will
bring fresh ingredients and all necessary utensils to your home, and prepare
your meals in your kitchen. How long will you be here? As we will be cooking a variety of meals and side
dishes from scratch, it will take several hours to complete. While we cannot
predict the exact number of hours, we aim to please and will be happy to
accommodate your schedule. We can make advance arrangements so that our cooking
date will fit into your lifestyle comfortably. How often will I need your service? We will be happy to work with your to determine a
schedule that optimises convenience for you. How long will the food last us? Depending on the number of meals you order, and how
many evenings you eat at home, we can determine how long your meals will last.
If you travel for business, entertain in restaurants, or just enjoy dining out
on occasion, the meals will last longer than if you eat in each night. Can you package my meals in individual serving
containers? We will be happy to package your meals in individual
serving containers, or family style if you wish. What do I need to do to complete the meals? Any meals that have been stored for you in your freezer
should be defrosted at least overnight in your refrigerator. We will leave
easy-to-follow instructions for heating each dish, which will allow you to enjoy
them at the apex of their flavour. How much freezer space will you need? It all depends on the number of meals you have us
create for you at one time, as well as the size of each container. We will
supply containers that optimise our usage of your refrigerator and freezer
space. As our meals usually eliminate the need for many other frozen
convenience foods, most clients find that they have adequate meal storage space. Can you use my containers to package my food? During your pre-service interview, your personal chef will
discuss the requirements for containers and look at what you have. We recommend the use of ceramic/glass dishes to enable maximum flexibility and good presentation of your gourmet meals. We can supply additional containers as required. The containers become yours and will be sterilized and reused
during subsequent visits. We will replace or supplement them as necessary. Does The
Gourmet Saint provide services for special events? Or In-home
